Creator Wins Belmont Stakes at Belmont Park

All eyes were on Belmont Park in Elmont, New York on Saturday, June 11 when the third leg of the Triple Crown, the Belmont Stakes was run. Some of the best three year olds in the land took to Belmont Park's dirt track and raced 1 1/2 miles for the winner's share of the $1.5 million purse. WinStar Farm and Bobby Flay's 16-1 shot Creator ran the race of his life and caught the frontrunner at the wire to win the most prestigious race on the day. Destin just missed out and finishing second at 8-1 odds. Lani held for third, another 1 1/2 lengths back while Governor Malibu finished fourth, Stradivari, Brody's Cause, Cherry Wine, Gettysburg, 5-1 second choice Suddenbreakingnews, Trojan Nation, 7-5 favorite Exaggerator who tired to finish eleventh, Seeking the Soul, and Forever d'Oro completed the order of finish.
