The $300,000 G1 Del Mar Debutante Stakes took place Saturday, September 2 at Del Mar racetrack in Del Mar, California - a seven-furlong dirt test for two-year-old fillies. Simon Callaghan trainee, 5-1 shot Moonshine Memories proved best on the day winning for the second time in her two career starts - this time by a half length over 18-1 longshot Piedi Bianchi who got in for a quality second after making up some ground but still fell short. Last out Sorrento Stakes winner and 2-1 second choice Spectator finished third, another 5 1/4 lengths back in the field of seven while Dancing Belle, slight 9-5 favorite Just a Smidge, Poetic and Gabrielleelizabeth completed the order of finish.
