The $100,000 G3 Torrey Pines Stakes went down Sunday, August 27 at Del Mar racetrack in Del Mar, California. Three-year-old fillies took to Del Mar's dirt track and raced one mile. Doug O'Neill-trained 18-1 longshot Munny Spunt benefitted from a disqualification and was promoted to first after crossing the line second - stewards determined that 5-1 second choice Zapperkat interfered with Munny Spunt in the stretch and placed her second in the field of eight. Bernina Star closed from fifth in the stretch to capture third at 26-1 odds while Chocolate Coated was fourth and Mistressofthenight, overwhelming 1-5 favorite Paradise Woods and Helen Hillary completed the order of finish. Delitefull Lady scratched.
