Romantic Vision Wins Juddmonte Spinster Stakes at Keeneland
The $500,000 G1 Juddmonte Spinster Stakes was contested Sunday, October 8 at Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky. Fillies and mares three years old and upward raced 1 1/8 miles on Keeneland's sloppy dirt track. G. Watts Humphrey Jr.'s homebred mare, 6-1 shot Romantic Vision made a bit of a statement, emerging by two lengths and in turn earning a fees-paid berth for the Longines Breeders' Cup Distaff at Del Mar Nov. 3. 5-1 third choice Martini Glass finished an OK second in the field of nine with Blue Prize getting in for third at 10-1 odds. 2-1 second betting choice Lockdown was fourth with You Know Too, 9-5 favorite Bar of Gold, Duchess of Duke, Tiger Moth and Factory of Faith completing the order of finish. A Place to Shine, Katalust, Mo d'Amour and Turkish Tabby scratched.
