Tricky Escape Wins Violet Stakes at Monmouth Park
The $100,000 G3 Violet Stakes went down Saturday, August 19 at Monmouth Park in Oceanport, New Jersey. Fillies and mares three years old and upward raced 1 1/8 miles on Monmouth Park's turf track. Tricky Escape overcame a slow start at 5-1 odds and prevailed by 1 1/4 lengths in the field that was trimmed to just seven. 2-1 favorite Light Up Our World finished second with 5-2 second choice Gianna's Dream claiming third. Beauly was fourth with Always Thinking, Pricedtoperfection and Arraign completing the order of finish. Camille Claudel and Cayman Croc scratched.
