Bal a Bali Wins Frank E. Kilroe Mile at Santa Anita Park
Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California played host to the $400,000 G1 Frank E. Kilroe Mile Stakes on Saturday, March 11. Horses four years old and upward took to Santa Anita's turf track and raced one mile. Calumet Farm's 9-1 shot Bal a Bali, in his first race since June posted the thrilling head victory in the field of six with last year's winner of this race What a View getting across the line second at 7-1 odds. 3-1 co-second choice Bolo was third, 1 1/2 lengths back, followed by Ring Weekend, slight 5-2 favorite Conquest Enforcer and G1 winner Dortmund who finished last in his turf debut. Flamboyant was scratched.
