Fillies and mares four years old and upward took to Santa Anita's sloppy dirt track (after rain forced the race off of the downhill turf course) and raced about 6 1/2 furlongs. Harry Bederian, Harout Kamberian, and Hagop Nakkashian's 9-5 second choice Watch This Cat posted her first stakes win - by an easy 8 1/2 lengths over Paquita Coqueta who held for second at 2-1 odds. 3-2 favorite Cadet Roni finished third in the field of just four while Lajatico trailed.
