Starting this Saturday – Pacific Classic Day – first post for all racing days but Fridays will shift from the usual 2 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. The adjustment is made to allow for the earlier sunset happing now as the west heads toward the end of its summer season.
So for the remaining Thursday, Saturday, Sunday (and Labor Day Monday) cards at the meet going forward to Sunday, September 8, the 1:30 post will be in effect. The remaining Friday cards will stay at 3 p.m.
Del Mar’s racing office is projecting 11-race cards for the upcoming Saturday and Sunday, with the same for its closing weekend. It sees a 10-race card for Labor Day Monday and the usual eight-race cards for the remaining Thursday and Friday.
